Department Definition:


The communications team plays a crucial role in the success of Expo 2020 Dubai, by driving awareness and engagement with the mega event, and the programmes taking place as part of the journey to Expo. Whether it is attracting SMEs as producers of licensed merchandise, attracting volunteers, or strengthening Expo’s youth engagement, effective communication is vital.

Opportunity Responsibilities:


Translator – Communications plays a key role in the communications team, working with internal and external stakeholders to write content, translate for the Arabic content, and take part in supporting Expo’s strategic objectives.

Main responsibilities for this role include:

- Writing material for the Arabic content that helps tell Expo 2020 Dubai’s story, while maintaining the style of Expo;

- Translate material that is passed by the senior management for both internal and media use;

- Conducting the research needed to produce waterproof material Coordinating with other departments to fulfil the tasks in a timely manner;

- Generate positive press coverage of Expo 2020 Dubai conferences; manage relationships with other department;

- Help oversee effective coordination and management of delivery by agencies and other teams.


Skills


4+ years of experience in journalism and/or translation, as well as:


- A Bachelors Degree within a relevant field;

- High level of proficiency in written and spoken English;

- Experience in communications planning, media engagement, and social media;

- Professional level of written Arabic, with the ability to produce clean and accurate material on deadline.
