Job Description :

Assists the Lab Chemist & the Manager/Supervisors in performing routine laboratory drilling fluids checks, including chemical, physical or electrical analysis running tests or troubleshooting processes or procedures in support of R&D, Qa/Qc, Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Support and Operations Excellence.
Key Responsibilities/Duties

Assists the Lab Chemist & Laboratory Manager/Supervisors in performing routine laboratory drilling fluids checks, including chemical, physical or electrical analysis running tests or troubleshooting processes or procedures in support of R&D, Qa/Qc, Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Support and Operations Excellence.
QA/QC of drilling fluid chemicals (barite, Lime, Polymer, Lubricant, Starch, Etc.)
Able to mix mud systems (SOBM , WBM and OBM)
Able to mix and prepare Lab Reagents solutions in different concentrations
Able to handle special Lab Projects, including tender Formulations, R&D Projects.
Able to elaborate and update MSDS and Product Data sheet for all the lab products.
Full mud check for different Mud Systems (SOBM ,WBM and OBM)
Able to maintain and Calibrate lab testing equipments
Corrosion test
Update Inventory for equipments and Lab Reagents
Cuttings activity by hydrometer.
Maintain and organize Chemical Storage with labeling and segregation
Shale Testing including LSM, CST, Accretion test, and Shale recovery…
Maintain the Lab and premises neat and tidy.
Ability to test and submit results to the lab Chemist for interpretation.
Ability to follow HSE Standards and laboratory Safety Rules
Well clean up additives testing
Hot Rolling ageing Test
Sag testing
Able to Operate PPA, HPHT, PSD
Works independently in the laboratory at times, although mainly under general supervision and works within a team to complete projects.
Assists laboratory Chemist in compiling, analyzing and interpreting results for internal/external customers and communicates results to supervisor in detailed manner
Report the test results to the lab Chemist for the technical report witch will be submitted to the laboratory Manager.
Analyzing different drilling fluids , Performing Qa/Qc inspection for Product samples and elaborating R& D projects under the supervision of the lab manager.
Tender formulations in order to measure mud properties in different conditions of temperature and pressure such as Viscosity, Mud Weight, pH, Yield Point, Electrical Stability,…..etc.
Ability to mix and test mud formulation for different drilling fluids Systems.
Ability to follow HSE Standards and Laboratory safety rules.
Responsible for the daily use of following equipments operation and be responsible for calibration too:
OFITE and Fann Viscometers
Brookfield Viscometer LVDV-II or LVDV-III
PPA, Permeability Plugging Apparatus
Lubricity Testers
Linear Swell meter & CST
Hydrometers
API & HPHT Filter Press
March Funnel for Viscosity & Mud Balance.
Bulk Hardness Testers
Conductivity Meters
Centrifuges & Mud Mixers
Hygrometers
pH meters
Retorts
Electric Stability testers.
Refractometer for Glycol.
Malvern Mastersizer and Cilas Particle size analyzers
