Job Description :
We are looking for artistic, detail-oriented candidates with good interpersonal skills for the position of an interior designer. The interior designer's key responsibilities include building strong ID concepts, visualizing and sketching design plans as per client goals, sourcing products and materials, determining costs and inspecting construction to ensure alignment with design specifications are met. You will also be expected to comply with the regulatory environment around inspections and building codes.
Good interior designers are able to think creatively about the use of space, color and movement and will draw on other artistic mediums for creative inspiration. They will also be effective communicators with the ability to persuade in communicating a design idea.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Interior Design.
- Min 7+ years of proven working experience in designing Commercial interior spaces for new constructions & renovation projects (Residential, Office, Retail and F&B Sectors)
- Experience of working on medium to large scale projects including site experience
- FF&E selection & specification
- Good knowledge of working with AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Studio Max (Corona Render/V-ray), Sketch-up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, for Presentations.
- Knowledge of the different Interior design styles, materials, and including construction details and specifications on the installation process and materials
- Ability to create strong Interior design and architectural concepts
- Creative talent, imagination, and eye for detail
- Communication and presentation skills
- Language Fluency: Excellent written and spoken English
Responsibilities in this role will include:
- Confer with Design Head to determine factors affecting planning interior environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, and purpose and function
- Confer with the Design Head on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination.
- Develop and enhance plan to be practical, esthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity.
- Select or design, and purchase furnishings, art works, and accessories.
- Render design ideas in form of drawings.
- Create comprehensive Mood boards and samples boards.
- Adhering to managements instructions explicitly in terms of flexibility and team work is mandatory.
- A brief of all projects and actions must be explained and verified to the management.
- Undertaking Design project from concept to completion
- Defining project requirements and schedule during the “Client brief”
- Interpreting and translating client needs into design using (sketches or 3d massing models)
- Preparing Concept layouts and mood board presentations (Pinterest + PowerPoint)
- Preparing 3d massing models (Zoning and Functional mapping)
- Preparing 3d renders using 3d max/sketchup. Preparing Architectural Drawings adhering to statutory authority guidelines
- Coordinating with all external consultants & suppliers for completing the submission drawings
- Review/ Prepare detailed Shop drawings for Joinery, Metal works and any fixed furniture.
- Inspect design after completion to determine whether client goals have been met.
- Prepare Material Specification sheets (All finishes, lighting and FF& E specifications – Excel Files with Images)
- Research and decide on new materials and products sourcing.
- Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practises.
- Supervise the operations as well as the design implementation and to monitor the progress of the project
- Lead a concept driven approach to design & architecture that benchmarks the industry standards
- Lead the design of interior spaces in coordination with client's requirement and architectural design team from concept to completion
- Excellent internal project management skills in creating and maintaining design project timelines
