The Role
Role: To manage site matters relating to MEP design, procurement, installation and commissioning by the Contractor on behalf of the Senior Resident Engineer. Assist the Senior Resident Engineer as may be required. Manage direct reports on behalf of the Senior Resident Engineer.
- Ensure safe practice on site
- Carry out inspection of works in progress
- Ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications and approved shop drawings
- Review of shop drawing and material submittals.
- Monitor and report contractor progress and all activities.
- Deliver all Atkins obligations related to the MEP Package under the Conditions of Contract.
- Assist the Senior Resident Engineer in delivering all other obligations under the Conditions of Contract.
- Assist the Senior Resident Engineer in delivering all Atkins internal Project Management deliverables.
- Comply with and maintain all discipline documentation in accordance with Project Quality Plan.
- Comply with all Atkins QHSE policies
Requirements
- Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BSc or BEng in a related subject; preferred Mechanical
- Minimum of 15 years experience of Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing Engineering
- Must demonstrate ability to act independently but as part of a team.
- Able to take ownership of and deliver the MEP site programme on site.
General requirements are as follows but not limited to:
- Checking of and identifying all requirements for Testing and Commissioning of MEP works package.
- Checking and clearing of contractors QA Submittals and Inspection Requests.
- Assuring the Contractor’s compliance with the Specification
- Ensuring progress of the site works to meet the project milestones
- Provision of technical and commercial advice to the Project Management Consultant on matters relating to the MEP programme of Works
- Ensuring safe methods of working
- Assist in the generation of the Supervising Consultant’s Weekly and Monthly Reports
- Generate, manage and maintain tracking and reporting schedules.
- Manage a team of MEP Inspectors
- Knowledge of British, American and International design standards
