A career in Compliance in Financial Advisory at Deloitte Professional Services (DIFC) Limited is a key support link in the delivery of work to our clients, putting you in the position of trusted advisor to businesses across the region. Our role is not only to protect the reputation of Deloitte by ensuring adherence to the procedures, laws and relevant rules and regulations, but also to work with the engagement teams to ensure we achieve this level of compliance while understanding how to balance the regulatory burden. We actively work together with leadership and the firm to instil a compliance culture into every decision and every action by Deloitte people.


Description



Reporting to the Compliance Director of the Financial Advisory (FA) practice, the jobholder will help to policies and procedures specific to independence and conflict check processes are adhered to. This includes but is not limited to:

Carrying out initial conflict check screening of potential clients;
Analysing and assessing possible threats of independence related to the proposed engagements;
Communicate with engagement teams regarding findings from conflict check searches and threats to independence;
Liaising with cross border conflict check teams and other independence co-ordinators;
Escalating independence concerns when needed to the Business Risk Leader or Compliance Director;
Maintaining accurate records of issues resolved and pending;
Compiling accurate statistics and providing said statistics to senior management as and when required;
Carry out other assigned tasks from time to time as directed.
Qualifications



Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics.
2-3 years’ experience in a financial services environment – prior “Big 4” experience a distinct advantage.
Understanding of independence issues / conflict checks and resolving independence impairments - a distinct advantage
EXCELLENT organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Strong computer literacy especially in Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint
Strong sense of integrity and responsibility.
Strong ability to work under pressure and to strict time-frames.
Good initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Attention to detail and excellent time management.
Fluent English and ability to communicate clearly and precisely
Arabic language skills advantageous but not mandatory
